Depression occurs when we have a very low mood and lack motivation for two weeks or more. Sometimes there is a trigger for depression, such as a relationship break up, but it can also occur due to a build-up of events. A common feature of depression is a lack of pleasure from previously enjoyed activities. When people have depression, everyday activities can be very challenging and it can be hard to see the positive things in life. The good thing is that depression is very treatable.
